Timocharis est un cratère de 34 Km et profond de 3110 Km situé sur la Mer des Pluies (Mare Imbrium). A l’est on trouve deux cratères jumeaux Feuillée (9,5 Km, 1810 m) et Beer (10,2 Km, 1650 m). La muraille de Timocharis a un contour quelque peu polygonal, avec un rempart externe qui se prolonge sur plus de 20 kilomètres dans toutes les directions. Le mur intérieur est escarpé en terrasses, et le centre du plancher est occupé par un craterlet qui se trouve sur une légère élévation. Le cratère  a un système mineur de rayons qui se prolonge sur plus de 130 kilomètres

Timocharis is a prominent lunar impact crater located on the Mare Imbrium. The closest crater of comparable dimensions is Lambert crater to the west. The smaller Feuillée and Beer paired craters lie to the east of Timocharis.
The rim of Timocharis crater has a somewhat polygonal outline, with an outer rampart that extends over 20 kilometers in all directions. The interior wall is slumped and sharply terraced. The center of the floor is occupied by a craterlet that lies on a slight rise. This impact has almost completely removed the original central peak. The crater has a minor ray system that extends for over 130 km.
To the north of Timocharis crater is a tiny crater chain named the Catena Timocharis.
